Rachel teach alignment based yoga. She has studied Anusara yoga and is currently training with Christina Sell. Her classes stress alignment and flow.
Sarah Whitaker has primarily studied yoga in the Ashtanga and Sivananda traditions, in addition to exploring Vinyasa more broadly. She completed a 200-hour teacher training in the Sivananda style and a 500-hour teacher training at Rubber Soul and has been teaching yoga for about 10 years. On the mat, her yoga practice centers on the themes of lightheartedness and mindfulness. Off the mat, her yoga practice centers on bringing a yoga-mind to her Ph.D. program in Educational Psychology, collecting hobbies, and volunteering at The Daily Co-Op.
In her 75-minute class, you will explore standing, seated, strengthening, stretching and relaxing poses using the technique of “flow.” By linking movement to breath (and not the other way around!) you may become so attuned to the transitional movements in your life off the yoga mat that you start to believe every movement you make is a yoga pose. If so, you are absolutely right! Each class begins and ends with a period of relaxation and the level of vigor in the middle is completely up to you based on your experience and energy level.
